This vacancy is for a GS-2150-11, Vessel Traffic Management Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, USCG MARINE SAFETY UNIT PORT ARTHUR. Duty location will be Port Arthur, TexasRequirements:
To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Examples of specialized experience may include:
- Experience working in the Maritime Industry involving the safe and efficient movement of maritime traffic.
- Experience communicating nautical information with maritime stakeholders.
- Experience advising or directing vessel movements; piloting vessels; monitoring the progress of vessel movements, informing, advising, or directing vessel operators.
- Experience serving aboard large or small vessels including service as helmsman, lookout, deck officer, boat operator, boat crewman, communications watch stander or in a Combat Information Center (CIC) / Command Center.
- Experience working in a transportation facility, terminal or other facility which involved utilizing Federal, State, and municipal regulations governing the use of maritime vessels.
