Role Overview
As a Business Development Manager (BDM) for the Data & AI business, you will drive strategic sales growth, expand market presence, and cultivate strong client relationships. You will work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to identify business opportunities, engage key stakeholders, and position AI-driven solutions to solve complex business challenges. This role is ideal for a results-oriented professional with experience in AI, data analytics, and enterprise technology sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Business Growth:
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities for Data & AI solutions.
- Own and drive the sales pipeline from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing.
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for key industries (e.g., telecom, finance, healthcare, manufacturing).
- Collaborate with internal teams (SDRs, AEs, Marketing) to align sales efforts with company growth objectives.
- Client Engagement & Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with C-level executives, decision-makers, and influencers.
- Conduct discovery meetings and consultative selling to understand customer pain points.
- Position AI, data platforms, cloud, and analytics solutions to address client needs.
- Lead proof-of-concept (PoC) and pilot engagements to demonstrate value.
- Market & Competitive Intelligence:
- Stay up to date on industry trends, AI developments, and competitive landscape.
- Identify key market opportunities and customer challenges in AI adoption and data transformation.
- Provide feedback to product teams on customer needs and solution gaps.
- Collaboration & Strategy Execution:
- Work with Marketing to refine messaging and improve demand generation efforts.
- Partner with Sales Engineering and Solution Architects to develop technical sales strategies.
- Develop and track KPIs for sales performance, revenue targets, and conversion rates.
Key Metrics for Success
- Revenue Growth: Achieving and exceeding sales targets for Data & AI solutions.
- Pipeline Expansion: Increasing the number of qualified leads and opportunities.
- Win Rate: Percentage of deals closed from initial engagement.
- Client Engagement: Number of high-value client meetings and PoCs initiated.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or partnerships in AI, data analytics, cloud, or enterprise software.
- Proven ability to sell complex technology solutions to enterprise clients.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML, data platforms, cloud computing, and analytics use cases.
- Experience in consultative selling, solution selling, or strategic sales.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales automation platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with AI/ML frameworks, data analytics tools, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Prior experience in key industries where AI and data solutions drive value (e.g., telecom, finance, manufacturing).
- Familiarity with account-based selling, partner ecosystems, and channel sales strategies.
