As an AST Environmental Control engineer within the Crew and Thermal Systems Division, you will be responsible for technology development, test systems design/oversight, and/or project management of government furnished equipment in the area of Environmental Control and Life Support, Active Thermal Control, and Space Suit Systems. You will lead a team of highly skilled engineers and be recognized as integral member of the organization in supporting both programmatic and engineering management.Requirements:

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.NASA utilizes OPM-approved qualification and rating requirements specific for Aerospace Technology (AST) positions which recognizes NASA's unique aerospace work. The specific qualifications and minimum education requirements are further described below and within the education section of the job announcement.
To qualify for GS-13 , you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level:
- Conducting analysis of hardware and test systems through data analysis, detailed design, systems engineering, and testing;
- Supporting projects, capability, and/or, system team to ensure accountability, work distribution, mentorship, and effective communication with program and engineering management;
- Working with systems engineering, project management, and/or theoretical analyses in support of Environmental Control and Life Support, Active Thermal, and/or Space Suit Systems.
