This position is part of the Government Secure and Intelligent Documents, Government Publishing Office in Stennis Space Center, MS.

Requirements:

To qualify for the position, you must meet the following requirements : Applicants must have experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to independently perform the duties typically required of a Offset Press Operator Leader.

Applicants must meet the following Screen-Out element to be considered for this position: Job Element #73 Ability to lead or supervise (SCREEN OUT) to be considered for this position. Applicants must also have experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality, to independently perform the duties, which are:

1) setting up, operating, and maintaining multi-color offset sheet-fed presses (up to 7 units with split fountains) and screen-printing presses.2) leading press operators or printing personnel.3) reading and interpreting printing instructions such as job tickets, press specifications, paper stock, ink requirements, and finishing instructions.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

In addition to the SCREENOUT requirements per GPO 615.2C Federal Merit Promotion Plan (FMPP), Appendix B GPO employees must have completed the following:
1) Completed a formal, recognized apprenticeship or GPO journeyperson training program, or possess substantially equivalent practical experience in the trade of the vacant position

AND

2) Served a minimum of one (1) year in a career or career-conditional appointment in the GPO.
