This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.About the Position: The position will test, inspect, redesign, and modify components of a wide variety of standard and non-standard weapons until firing function has accomplished the degree of performance desired.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element) : Ability to do the work of a(n) Armament Equipment Repairer ~ without more than normal supervision. . Must possess the ability to apply common knowledge of firearms operating principles, inspection, and testing procedures to perform tasks such as rebuilding, modifying, repairing, inspecting, and testing all types of small arms and artillery systems. Items include rifles, handguns machine guns, mortars, rocket launchers and recoilless systems. Items are standard military and non-standard weapons. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
