Description:
This position will be assigned to the JBSA Fort Sam Houston Human Resources Office. The incumbent will be required to work occasionally at the satellite offices located at JBSA Randolph and Lackland AFB.This is a Regular Full-Time category position with guaranteed 40 hrs. per week. Employees appointed to a Regular category position are eligible for benefits.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
NF-02 Human Resources Assistant:
Must have experience in responsible clerical or office work of any kind in which the applicant demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the pay band level of the position. Experience of office automation software (MS Windows, MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel) is required. Must have experience in dealing with the public. Experience of NAF Human Resources and/or experience processing personnel actions is desired.
Must satisfactorily demonstrate the ability to independently perform at the target grade level (NF-III) within 12 months of appointment in the position in order to be non-competitive promoted.
NF-03 Human Resources Assistant:
In addition to the above, applicant must have progressively responsible experience that required the applicant to acquire and apply a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of the rules, regulations, procedures, and program requirements of NAF personnel administration.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the bases of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
- Typing skills are required.
- Knowledge of office automation software (MS Windows, MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Excel).
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Must possess skill in dealing with the public.
- Must have progressively responsible experience that required the applicant to acquire and apply a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of the rules, regulations, procedures, and program requirements of NAF personnel administration.
