Contracting Officer

Description:

This position will be assigned to the JBSA Lackland NAF Resource Accounting Office. Employee may occasionally be required to assist customers at other JBSA locations.

This is a regular part-time category position with guaranteed 20 hours per week. May work up to 40 hrs/week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Professional experience with a wide range of Federal contracting laws, regulations, policies, procedures, methods, techniques, and contract types applicable to pre-award and post-award actions for a variety of complex contracts for unique services, commodities, and/or construction. Experience identifying problems, determining accuracy and relevance of information, using sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and making recommendations; makes sound, well-informed, and objective decisions applying precedents found in government contracting case law to specific contracting situations to insure that legally binding contracting officer decisions are consistent, justifiable, and will be upheld at appellate courts or boards; perceives the impact and implications of decisions; commits to action, even in uncertain situations, to accomplish organizational goals. At least 1 year of NAF Services experience or 1 year of contracting experience with the government or industry is desired.
