Description:
The position serves as the Program Assistant to the Patient Administrative Service (PAS). Patient Administrative is a complex service consisting of multiple types of medical activities, including Inpatient, Outpatient, Purchasing, Clinical, & Budgeting functions at multiple sites within the STVHCS. This service requires an assistant who can coordinate, gather information, & write reports for the Service Chief & Administrative Officer (AO).Requirements:
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/02/2026.You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
- Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: operating programs such as, Microsoft Office, CPRS, DHCP, ADP, TMS, VISTA, HSRM, and PPMS sufficient to enter and process items; compiling and summarizing information and data, identify inaccuracies or anomalies in the information, and making written recommendations to resolve discrepancies based in interpretation of applicable regulations and procedures; AND analyzing financial reports to forward reports not in line with the guidelines to the service for review. OR,
- Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 4 years above High School. OR,
- Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond 4 years above High School.
