This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.This position is included under the provisions of Special Retirement Coverage (SRC) and may have both a maximum entry age and a mandatory retirement date.

Who May Apply: US CitizensIn order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes completing fire inspection of low hazard structures and recommending corrective actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Certifications: In addition to the above requirements, this position requires that the incumbent possess and maintain the following DoD IFSAC or Pro-Board issued certifications: Fire Inspector I, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor I, Firefighter I, Firefighter II, HAZMAT Awareness, HAZMAT Operations, Fire and Life Safety Educator I/II, and Emergency Medical Technician (Texas or Nationally Registered). You MUST submit a copy of your certifications with your application package.
Certified through DoD Fire and Emergency Services Certification System, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), or the Fire Service Professional Qualifications System (PRO-Board) in accordance with DoD 6055.06-M AND a State or National Registry EMT Certification Card indicating a future expiration date when applicable.
Proof of Age: As this is a primary/rigorous firefighter position, your application package MUST include a government issued document indicating your date of birth.
