Gardener (Motor Vehicle Operator)

Description:

This position will be assigned to the JBSA Fort Sam Houston Golf Course located in San Antonio, Texas.

This is a Flexible category position with guaranteed 00 hours per week. Employees appointed to a Flexible category position are not eligible for benefits.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience which demonstrates knowledge of seasonal gardening tasks, such as fertilizing, preparing seedbeds, transplanting, laying sod, aerating, pruning, trimming, and applying chemicals to plants; grounds maintenance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Skill in operating a variety of tractors and in operating one or more gasoline, diesel, or electric powered wheeled vehicles with a GVW of more than 10,000 and up to 26,000 pounds.
2. Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions, work orders, and specifications related to gardening, motor vehicle and tractor operation, perform preventive maintenance.
