About the Position:This position is located at Fort Buchanan, which is located by Guaynabo City, Puerto Rico. It is near the capital of San Juan. Puerto Rico boasts fabulous ocean views, tropical weather, and lush green mountains. The island is approximately 100 miles by 35 miles and similar in size to Connecticut.
Federal employees in Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico may be entitled to receive a 2.49% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. (% is subject to change)

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Specialized Experience GS-06: One year of specialized experience which includes: Utilizing office automation software to prepare a variety of documents with accuracy; managing a detailed office calendar; and maintaining office records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Specialized Experience GS-07 : I have one year of specialized experience which includes: Performing full administrative functions such as screen visitors/telephone calls, time and attendance tracking; maintaining office records, maintain calendars; reviewing and composing correspondences to ensure accuracy utilizing automated equipment; and making travel arrangements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors. The Hiring Manager may require a typing proficiency test be administered to verify meeting the typing requirements for this position. Applicants determined to not meet the typing proficiency will be considered ineligible and will not receive consideration for this position.
