This position serves as a Purchasing Agent for the Prosthetics Service within the El Paso VA Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Chief Prosthetics Agent.Requirements:
To qualify for this position you must have the following:SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service, that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) needed to successfully perform the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to this Purchasing Agent position to be filled. Specialized experience for the position includes experience managing the collection of data to be used in numerous reports to ensure adequate resource funding and compliance, researches the use of different solicitation methods, ordering or reporting procedures, and purchasing methods to distinguish between different purchasing strategies, documents the services required per the contractual agreement and monitors, tracks, and trends contractor performance, resolves conflicts in administering purchase orders, such as protests, claims, duplicate billing & terminations for convenience or default, work independently to complete purchase orders and reconcile charges, maintains accurate records of transactions, maintain an inventory of all purchased and consignment equipment with expiration date, initiate procurement of all outpatient medical requirements. And purchases various equipment, supplies and services through the use of a purchase card; and using collected data to produce reports and spreadsheets. IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Physical Requirements: Work is primarily sedentary and is carried out in an office setting. There exists prolonged periods of working at a computer terminal. Ability to retrieve equipment from a storage room is required. Climbing is associated with stocking equipment and other items in storage areas
is necessary. Incumbent may carry/lift items weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Normal safety precautions are adequate. The work involves moderate discomfort when visiting sites away from the office.
