Human Resources Assistant

Description:

This position will be assigned to the Air Force Services Center at Port San Antonio, TX.

This is a regular full-time category position with guaranteed 40 hrs. per week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits.

This is a developmental position - full performance level for this position is NF-03. Upon satisfactory completion of required training, incumbent will be non-competitively promoted.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.


Qualifying Experience:

NF-02 Human Resources Assistant:
Experience performing clerical work and providing customer service to internal and external customers; applying rules, regulations, and procedures in accomplishment of clerical/administrative work.

NF-03 Human Resources Assistant:
Experience interpreting and applying HR rules, regulations, and procedures in accomplishment of clerical/administrative work; utilizing recruitment tools in hiring personnel (i.e., generating job postings, job fairs, or equivalent); advising on routine recruitment strategies; troubleshooting and resolving personnel system and software issues. Experience processing a variety of personnel actions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the bases of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Utilizing office automation software (MS Windows, MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Excel).
2. Experience with Non-Appropriated Funds (NAF) Human Resources rules, regulations, and procedures.
