Recreation Assistant (Outdoor Activities)

Description:

This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the JBSA Lackland Outdoor Recreation Facility.

This is Regular Part-time with guaranteed 20 hrs./wk but may work up to 40 hrs./wk. Scheduled as needed.

Employees appointed to a Regular Part-time category position are eligible for benefits.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Progressive experience in planning, organizing, conducting, and evaluating outdoor adventure programs. Practical experience which has provided familiarity and knowledge of the procedures need to facilitate, lead, or instruct individuals or groups in recreation programs and activities is desired. Must possess skill in dealing with public. Must possess the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle with attached trailer.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1.Knowledge of Outdoor Recreation activities, programs and equipment.
2.Cashier training or knowledge of cash handling.
3. Customer Service training.
4. Office equipment
