Recreation Assistant

Description:

This position will be assigned to the Information, Tickets, and Travel (ITT) located on JBSA Lackland.

This is a flexible category position with guaranteed 00 hours per week and may work up to 40 hours per week. Work schedule varies based on facility needs and includes nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Employees appointed to flexible category positions are not eligible for benefits.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.


Qualifying Experience:
Applicant must have experience as a cashier and cash handling procedures. Must have worked directly with customers. Experience in following oral and written instructions effectively, Must have experience in working in fast paced environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Knowledge of the San Antonio area and experience in local tourism industry is preferred.
2. Ability to multi-task along with attention to detail.
3. Ability to effectively communicate with customers.
4. Ability to handle multiple job related tasks concurrently.
5. Practical experience of travel, tour and recreation activities, rules, procedures is desirable.
