About the Position: This position is with the Department of Pathology located at Tripler Army Medical Center, which is on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii.Tripler Army Medical Center is a tobacco-free workplace. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) independently performing a variety of standardized and complex medical laboratory tests and examinations; and 2) reviewing findings against established quality control values, quality assurance procedures and/or
sampling or preparing reports of findings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: Successful completion of at least one full year of undergraduate-level education that is directly related to the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100% to qualify.
Licensure/Certification:
This position requires a certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technologist (AMT) or other board or registry deemed comparable by Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs (OASD (HA)) or their designee as a Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS), Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Lab Scientist (MLS), or Medical Lab Technician (MLT). For current U.S. military members, this position requires successful completion of an official U.S. military medical laboratory procedures training course of at least 50 weeks duration and currently holding the military enlisted occupational specialty of medical laboratory specialist (laboratory technician).
