To qualify for the PPW (Materials Handler), you must meet the following requirements:Applicants must meet the following Screen-Out element:
Screen Out-Element #1 : Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision to be considered for this position. Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the online assessment questionnaire. If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT ELEMENT above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration. Typical duties of this position are: 1) Possessing knowledge of proper wrapping, packing, labeling, and weighing procedures, requirements and methods, 2) having the ability to read and interpret work jackets and follow written and oral instructions, and 3) performing checks and verification of work.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
