In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing operations and programs for a unit in the areas of personnel and pay management, training, administration, supply, maintenance operations, information management, resource management, recruitment, inspections and investigations, public relations, and/or security; analyzing and providing guidance on directives, policies, or instructions from higher headquarters; maintaining oversight of the overall readiness status of subordinate units; responsible for ensuring facilities are maintained, operated, and controlled, consistent with current directives and regulations; and exercising supervision over the daily activities of a full time staff at a brigade level or higher. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
