This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is the Ability to do the job without more than normal supervision: 1) Repairing and maintaining a variety of domestic and commercial refrigeration and heating, ventilation and air conditioning units and systems; 2) Testing small units and systems using compound refrigeration gauges and ammeters to locate worn and broken parts; 3) Selecting and obtaining appropriate materials and replacement parts; 4) Inspecting and observing equipment for proper operation, oil levels, cycling, overheated bearings, and unusual noises.
